Ingredients:
- 6 black tea bags (I use Salada)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 4 cups cold water
- 2 cups ice
- Pinch of baking soda (optional- it takes any bitterness out of the tea)
Kitchen Tools:
- Pot
- Whisk
- Pitcher/drink container (8 cups+ capacity)
Directions:
- Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot on the stove (or using a tea kettle)
- Take the boiled water off the heat, add 6 tea bags, and a pinch of baking soda
- Cover and allow tea bags to steep for 15 minutes
- Meanwhile, add 4 cups of cold water and 2 cups of ice to your pitcher
- Once the tea has steeped, discard the tea bags and whisk in sugar until dissolved
- Add the hot tea to your pitcher of cold water and stir to incorporate
- Place into the fridge until fully chilled. Enjoy!
